Prosper In Wealth 發啊!

Prosper in Wealth portrays how Chinatown has attracted various groups of people, from rickshaw pullers, food sellers, merchants and many more to reside in the district. There are also hints of popular icons such as Bruce Lee and activities (fire crackers, tea appreciation) as well as daily sightings (lanterns), lingo (SHIOK) and food selections (durians) that are familiar to the local community.

This mural belongs to Our Hawker Centres – A Heritage and Art Project, which was jointly organised by the National Environment Agency (NEA) and National Heritage Board (NHB). This artwork is part of the initiative to raise awareness of the heritage and cultural value of Singapore’s hawker centres through the incorporation of art.
